Abraham Simmonds (1839~1913)
Abraham Simmonds, the son of William Simmonds and Sarah Spink was born on the 13th January 1839 in Hesset, Suffolk. He was a Shepherd. Caroline Bugg, the daughter of Ambrose Bugg and Elizabeth Bland was christened on the 27th October 1836 in Drinkstone, Suffolk.
Abraham Simmonds married Caroline Bugg on the 8th May 1858 in Rougham.

In 1888 Abraham was working as a shepherd employed by Mr. H. Sturgeon of Rushbrook.
THINGOE AND THEDWASTRE PETTY SESSIONS

Joseph Curson, gamekeeper, Rougham, was charged with killing a partridge out of season on the 12th inst., at Rushbrook. Abraham Simmonds, shepherd, in the employ of Mr. H. Sturgeon, farmer, Rushbrook, stated that he saw the defendant kill a partridge with an air cane. In cross-examination, defendant elicited that Simmonds had offered to let the case drop if defendant would give him £2. The case was dismissed.
Ipswich Journal March 22nd 1888Caroline died in 1890. Abraham married Ellen Barker (the daughter of Mark Barker) on the 23rd June 1892 at Rougham Church.

Abraham died of diabetes, diabetic gangrene and exhaustion on the 12th December 1913 in Rougham.
